Financial support for Canadian Studies can be obtained from a number of sources, and covers a wide range of activities. Full details on the all programmes available can be obtained by going to the websites of the funding bodies. The information provided here is not exhaustive, but certainly covers the main programmes that are of benefit to Central European Canadianists.

These scholarships enable students to spend 4-6 weeks at a Canadian university or research site doing research related to MA or doctoral theses in the field of Canadian Studies. The scholarship is intended to provide access to crucial scholarly information and resources in Canada in support of a thesis that is close to or at the point of writing.

This annual ICCS award is designed to recognize and promote an outstanding PhD thesis on a Canadian topic that contributes to a better understanding of Canada.

Note that item 6 in the list of required documents - a letter from the President of the member association - will be added to the dossier of the candidate chosen by the CEACS pre-selection committee when it is sent to Ottawa.
These fellowships are designed to enable young Canadian and foreign academics who have completed a doctoral thesis on a topic primarily related to Canada and are not employed in a full-time, university teaching position to visit a Canadian or foreign university with a Canadian Studies programme for a teaching or research fellowship.

Pierre Savard Awards
The Pierre Savard Awards are designed to recognize and promote outstanding scholarly monographs written by members of the Canadian Studies international community that contribute to a better understanding of Canada.

These grants (with a maximum value of 200 EUR) are intended for members in good standing of the CEACS who plan to present a paper in the field of Canadian Studies at a conference, seminar or other scholarly gathering. The number of conference grants in each year varies. They are awarded in two rounds, spring and fall.

Student members of the CEACS are eligible for grants (with a maximum value of 150 EUR) to help cover costs related to summer schools in Canadian Studies.

The Canadian Studies Centre at Masaryk University in Brno has an extensive collection comprising over 5,500 books, 300 videos and DVDs, many sound recordings and runs of a number of scholarly journals - the richest Canadian Studies collection in the Central European region.
In order to encourage the widest possible use of these resources, the CEACS will cover the cost of accommodation for up to six nights for Canadianists wisihing to undertake research stays at Brno.
Those eligible include students at both the MA and PhD levels preparing theses as well as teachers undertaking research for a particular project, preparing a new course, etc.
Students and teachers wishing to come to Brno should submit a brief description of why they would like to use the facilities at Masaryk University; in addition, students should include a note from a teacher confirming their status.
