Multimedia Munro - Slovenia

Dear Colleagues,

Our Slovenian friends have just announced a series of events, including on-line lectures, that will kick off the celebration of Alice Munro in the author's 90th year (see here).

I’d like to congratulate the organizers on this initiative, and remind other CEACS members to inform us if they, too, are planning any event(s) - of any kind - that can be shared. In these difficult times, such occasions are doubly welcome, and clear proof of the ongoing vitality of our association.

Yours,

Katalin Kürtösi

SATURDAY

APRIL 10

Dear Canadianists,

I am writing to invite you to an event taking place on Saturday, April 10 at 13:45 (Montreal time) as part of the California-based Sierra Poetry Festival. “Café Québec: Je me souviens” will feature poets Carolyn Marie Souaid, Hélène Dorion, Alain Cuerrier and me, who will share our journey between the “Two Solitudes” in Canada.

We will be reading in French and English and discussing the significance of the phrase “Je me souviens” and the topic of writing in English (as a minority in Quebec but part of the majority in North America) and writing in French (as part of the majority in the province but a minority in North America).

Registration for our and other events is FREE. Visit the website for details on how to register. And please feel free to share this invitation widely with your colleagues and students.

Looking forward to seeing you in California!
